Applications are invited for a research studentship at the QUILL Research Centre based in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast.

QUILL is the Queen’s University Ionic Liquid Laboratories and is one of the largest and most active ionic liquid research centres in the world, with a staff that includes a number of world-renowned experts in the field including Prof. Ken Seddon and Prof. Robin Rogers.

QUILL is an industry-university co-operative research centre and currently there are fifteen industrial members (spread across four continents) including such blue chip companies as BP, Chevron, Merck, Petronas, P&G and Shell.The student will work as part of a highly specialised team carrying out research in the field of industrial separations. Guidance will be provided by both the QUILL academics and the industrial members.


The student will be paid an annual stipend as detailed below which will be paid monthly in arrears. The University fees will be paid by the sponsoring body.

2010 -2011 £13,728 (estimate)
