Applications are being invited for Masters program in Human Language Technology and Interfaces at University of Trento, Italy. There is a number of student grants sponsored by affiliated enterprises and research laboratories.

Course Description

Human language technology is becoming increasingly essential to cope with the huge amounts of textual information currently available e.g., in the scientific literature or through the Web, and gives people the possibility of using speech and/or natural language to access a variety of automated services such as airline reservation systems or voicemail. Service and technology providers are therefore strong supporters of this technology. This master aims at providing skills in the basic theories, techniques, and applications of this technology through courses taught by internationally recognized researchers from the university, research centers and supporting industry partners. This master is aimed both to industry and research.





Selection Criteria

The candidates selection is done on the basis of the following:

Photocopy of the applicant's identity card or passport.
English proficiency.
One of the following:
A copy of the IELTS-certificate (with a minimum score of 6.0) or the TOEFL certificate, with a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 200 (computer-based) or 81 (internet-based), or the CAE certificate (with a minimum score of C). The TOEFL certificate must be not older than January 2005.
Applicants whose studies at the University were hold in English can submit a declaration issued by the University that attests this fact.
An electronic copy of the highest degree academic certificate (i.g. laurea specialistica o laurea quadriennale).
A translation of the degree certificates in Italian or English, only if the original documents are not written in either of these languages.
Copies of all transcripts or other academic records that give proof of the university studies including credits and grades achieved in each single subject.

Curriculum Vitae in Italian or English.

Student Grants and Fees

There is a number of student grants sponsored by affiliated enterprises and research laboratories. The grants will be assigned during the selection procedure.
The tuition fee for the International Master in Human Language Technology and Interfaces is 2000 euro. The tuition fee may be waived partially or totally depending on the student ranking during the selection process.
