58 PhD Scholarships for Foreign students, Politecnico di Milano, Italy
A competition is hereby proclaimed by the Politecnico di Milano Italy, for the admission, of foreign nationals only , based purely on an assessment of their curriculum vitae, to the 24th cycle of research doctorate programs.

The duration of the doctorate course will be three years. The number of places and scholarships may be increased before the end of the competition.
Requirements for Admission to the Competition
Applications to take part in the competition for admission to a research doctorate, may be submitted by those who hold a graduate degree (M.Sc) obtained from an Italian University or an academic title of equivalent standing obtained at a foreign university equivalent for duration and subjects to the Italian title, recognized from the competent academic authorities. If the foreign degree has already been declared equivalent to an Italian degree, the candidates will have to state the Italian University and the date of the rector's decree with which equivalent standing was confirmed. If the foreign degree has not yet been declared equivalent to an Italian degree, candidates must – for purposes of admission to the doctorate for which they intend to compete – make an explicit request for such status in their application or admission to the competition and include with their applications documents to enable the Faculty to issue the required declaration of equivalence.
Scholarships
The value of a scholarship is € 13,638.47 per annum, including social security contributions, to be adjusted in accordance with any increase introduced by law. For Government funded scholarships, the amount of the scholarship can be increased by the faculty, as stated in the document describing the scholarships that can be found at the web-page "List doctorates and training offer" on the website of the PhD School: http://www.polimi.it/dottorato/eng/corsi/elencocorsi.htm
Scholarships have a maximum duration of three years, and are confirmed from one year to the next.
Application for Admission
Any admission form, one for each PhD course chosen, shall be electronically submitted by 1st September 2008 connecting the ON-LINE procedure available at the website http://www.phd-admission.polimi.it/ and shall also be delivered duly printed and undersigned by the same deadline (1st September 2008) addressed to:-

In addition to the above-mentioned forms, all of the documents requested shall be delivered in hard copy by the same deadline, that is 1st September 2008.
